March Newsletter 2009

Y4 Residential to Castleton

This was another great success and got a big "thumbs up" from the children. It's wonderful when all the children AND staff enjoy it - and this is exactly what can be said for this year's trip again. Fortunately the weather held well and the children were able to make their climb up to Peveril Castle as well as numerous other activities on the Monday - I'm sure this is what helped what was quite a settled night before another busy day on Tuesday. Comic Relief at Hunter's Bar 13.3.09

So here it is Comic Relief 2009 and so to celebrate here at Hunter's Bar Junior's we are having a day of silly hats, funny walks and general dressing up in red! It should make for a fun day for all.

Castleton 2009

Completing a big couple of weeks for our Year 4's was a ver successful 2 day residential trip to Castleton in Derbyshire on th 9th and 10th of March. The children were able to take part in a number of exciting activities including Roman marching, an archeological dig, a visit to peveril castle AND building a roman siege engine. With both staff and studentsaving all returned exhausted we should soon have photo's of this exciting occasion up for all to see. More to follow.

Y4 Puppet Extraveganza

Last week the Year 4 classes performed their very own puppet shows based on popular tale for the children at the infant school. Needless to say it was an instant hit and we should hopefully be able to get some media from them up soon so watch this space.

COMIC RELIEF – RED NOSE DAY IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This year Red Nose day will be Friday 13th March and the School Council are making plans for activities to raise money in school.

Matt Boreman ( chair of the school council) writes –

‘We celebrate Red Nose day every year but this time it’s changed, school council are running it. We will be organising lots of fun things and we will let everyone know about them in an assembly and parents look out for posters! This is a great cause so please support us on this day’

Buy your red nose in school, the school council will be selling these before and after school. LOOK OUT FOR DETAILS nearer the time.
