Happy Birthday Hunter's Bar – 100 years old!

Img_1092_web Hunter's Bar Junior School is 100 years old and we celebrated our centenary in style by holding a garden party – followed by a visit from some special guests.

The school was transformed with bunting and special artwork produced by the children. Pupils and staff past and present attended to enjoy a variety of attractions and entertainment.

We were blessed with good weather and a steady stream of visitors passed through the gates. The stocks proved very popular with pupils queuing to give their teacher a good soaking.

The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Cllr Arthur Dunworth, and the Lady Mayoress, Cllr Kathleen Chadwick buried a time capsule in the school garden. Each class provided two items to go into the specially-made capsule including; coins, stamps, pens, newsletters, Top Trumps cards and drawings.

Thanks go to all the staff and volunteers who gave their time to make the day run smoothly, especially Mrs Harrison who worked tirelessly to organise the event.

Welcome!
