Mrs Harrison: Teacher of the Year 2007?

Y6 teacher Mrs Harrison is a finalist in the National Teaching Awards - one of four finalists in the North of England.

Nominations and testimonies came from the school and she was shortlisted on the strength of the evidence.

Mrs Harrison was brought to tears by the good news. She said: “I was shocked because I didn’t know anything about it. I’m excited but I know that there are a lot of people who work just as hard as me.

“Everyone has been saying really nice things about me,” she added.

Judges who visited the school spoke to a number of people about the work that Mrs Harrison does. They were very impressed with both her and the school.

Mrs Harrison will attend an award ceremony on July 4 at the Majestic Hotel, Harrogate, when the winners from our region will be announced. The winners then go on to a gala dinner in London which is to be broadcast by the BBC.

We have a talented staff at Hunter's Bar Junior School who all wish Mrs Harrison the very best of luck.

Welcome!
