HSA minutes 22.01.07

Present: Shirley Harrison, Netti South, Jo Gleig, Susan Steiner Gardner, Sophie Macfadyen, Judith Price, Jill Hallsworth, Cathy Spencer, Lynnette Glossop and Helen Crimlisk.

HSA FUNDS

There was a discussion about how to spend some of the money the HSA has raised. It was felt that some will be held back for the playground re development but that it would be good to spend some now. It was agreed that Hunters Bar School running vests would be purchased for the cross country and athletics events. Shirley and Lynnette to try and organise these as soon as, possible so that they could be used at the last few cross country events. More games for the playground were suggested and it was decided that the school council would be asked how they think the money should be spent. It was agreed that they would be given a budget of £500 to spend. A climbing wall was suggested by Netti. Dobcroft School have one so Jill offered to investigate how much it cost.

FUND RAISING

Netti suggested a fund raising scheme already being operated successfully by Dobcroft School which enables families to go to the theatre together at discounted prices It involves the HSA organising the purchase and sale of tickets for a selected performance of productions suitable for families. The theatres offer an educational discount for parties of 10 and over and this discount would significantly reduce the price per ticket. A donation of £1 per ticket would be made to the HSA in return for organising the scheme. Judith offered to look in to it and Jo agreed to help.
