Winter Fair

All felt that this event was a great success. The event raised £2000, half of which went to the earthquake appeal.

Parents Evening

There was a general request for help at these events on 21st and 23rd March. Help is needed from 4‑6.30pm to make teas and coffees.

School Disco's

It was decided that these should be held on Monday 27th March. Y3/Y4 at 6‑7 pm and Y5/Y6 at 7.15‑8.15  pm. Ally offered to contact the DJ. It was decided that fruit and water would be provided this year instead of the fizzy drinks and crisps. Help from parents is needed for door duty and refreshments.

Easter Fair

It was decided to hold this on Monday 27th March as well from 3.30‑4.30pm. The stalls and competitions at this event will be discussed at the next meeting.

Fund Raising

The next major project is for Adult toilets in the school and a parents room. Jill mentioned the Green travel plan which is a governmental initiative to encourage more walking. The school can access up to £10000 which the council will match. The school needs to have a travel plan. Ideas such as park and walk, cycling and walking buses were discussed. Sophie offered advice to anyone wanting to set up a walking bus. Shirley mentioned the Children's Marathon Challenge 2006 which raises money for leukaemia and for the school. She will look further into this.

Future Agenda

Jill informed the group that the school had its centenary next year on 17'h July 2007. The idea of producing a book about the school over the years was discussed. Also it was felt that it would be good to try to contact as many old pupils as possible. There is a group of old pupils that already meet and it was felt that their help would be invaluable. It was agreed that a working party needed to be set up soon for this. Anyone interested in this please contact Jill.

Next meeting

It was felt that to try to encourage new blood into the HSA that the next meeting would he straight after school and that some childcare would he provided.

Next meeting MONDAY 6th March 3.30pm
